When Gone Girl was being filmed here my sister was totally rubbing it in my face that Cape Girardeau was cooler than where I was. I mean who doesn't like seeing Ben Affleck in their town? *swoon* I checked this bar out and it's totally my type of place. Some great drinks that are a bit higher end and they have some good eats offered here too. The bartender was on it even with a full bar. She was very sweet and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back when I visit my sister and friends. :) Excuse the pictures I didn't realize we were stopping by and I was totally in vacation mode. :)

The Bar! The famous Bar. Yes, this is The Bar that was in Gone Girl in Cape, and so of course we had to stop by. Because... THE MOVIE! You can probably pick up on my sarcasm, but I'm not really a huge movie person and didn't have an opinion either way... but why not check out a cool local spot, especially in a town I love? My best friend and I went in for a Saturday bloody mary and lunch, and it was just so-so. The bartender (who was waiting on all the tables in the bar area) was really nice, and I appreciate how attentive she was. The bloody mary I had was really just A-OK, nothing too special there. For my lunch I ordered the Cubano Panini, which is made with Cuban roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, yellow mustard, and pickles, so pretty standard. It really was pretty dry and again, just A-OK. I think what also made this visit three stars instead of four is that there was really no one there -- it was so quiet and the atmosphere in general was pretty lackluster. I might stop back by at night to see if that scene is any more lively. Either way, our lunch was just fine, but nothing to write home about.

Great food (had the salmon), beer selection, and music! I'll be back. Service was fantastic and friendly.

Nice small town city atmosphere. The service we had was outstanding. The food delicious, perfect temperature and reasonably priced. Drinks moderate price and made well especially the frosting rimmed with sprinkles Birthday martini. Small place gets a little loud when crowded but definitely going back.

We went on my husbands birthday and I had the burger they use half pork and half beef it was good , something different from the average burger. My husband had the salmon with onion rings he said it was good also. They have a formal atmosphere but very nice and relaxed, they greeted us at the door and had very good service throughout the dinner. It's a great place to have a romantic dinner for just two or a great bussines meeting place. We would go back again.

I haven't been for just drinks yet, but went for lunch with a girlfriend. Very limited menu (and I understand if it is because they just opened and will be expanding it) but very expensive for what we received. Tiger prawn appetizer was $8 for three small prawns and the sauce was humus, not sauce. Side salad was $7 (wasn't worth that) and honey mustard dressing (homemade) tasted and looked like it was with yellow mustard. $20+ for linens at the bar tables with rickety chairs. I'll return for drinks some night soon but not worth lunch cost.

Stopped in for lunch. The bacon-wrapped meatloaf, the gumbo and the eponymous burger were very good and reasonably priced for the quality. Would have been nice if the meatloaf were paired with a vegetable. Not a large lunch menu, but there should be something for every taste. Excellent service. I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

I went here the other day with my wife and another couple. We sat in the restaurant which is very small but kind of cool. I walked over to the bar to check it out. Also pretty cool atmosphere and also a different menu. Anyway, I ordered the burger which is supposed to be one of their signature dishes. It was pretty good. It comes on a pretzel bun which is different (unless you frequent Wendy's). For my side I got the Brussel sprouts. Everything I ate was just OK. My wife ordered the meatloaf which neither one of us liked. My friend ordered the ribeye and loved it. I guess that's the way to go. I'll come back and try something different but definitely not anything amazing.

Three bartenders and the only way we could get their attention was spilling a beer....
